Here is a photo of my studio taken last summer. The studio is located across the yard from my house and is my creative space and sanctuary where I go to compose music, practice and sit quietly. The Peace Pole in the foreground was a gift from some dear friends in Japan. The Peace Pole Project plants these poles all around the world with the universal prayer “May Peace Prevail On Earth” written on all four sides in different languages. Currently there are over 100,000 Peace Poles worldwide. Passing by it each day is a wonderful reminder of our spiritual nature and a way to stay grounded and focused on peaceful living.
As you can see I live in the country and have the good fortune to be close to nature. We have lots of trees and plants in our yard along with a steady stream of birds, deer and other wildlife coming and going throughout the year. The birds in particular bring a magical quality every day with their songs and colorful display. All in all it is an inspirational place to be and I am truly grateful to call it home. My favorite moments are walking back from the studio to the house in the evening when the stars are out. Feeling the immensity of the universe, the silent mystery and the sacred connection always fills my heart with joy.
